HERE ARE THE CURRENT MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM COMPENSATION

RATES AND/OR SAWWs

IN THE NEW ENGLAND STATES

MASSACHUSETTS

(Circular Letter #359)

The Maximum Compensation rate is $1,796.72  for injuries on or after October 1, 2023.
The Minimum Compensation rate is $359.34 for injuries on or after October 1, 2023.

CONNECTICUT

(Memorandum 2023-05).

For Injuries on or after October 1, 2023:

Temporary and Permanent Total Disability:

  • Maximum weekly compensation benefit is $1,575.00
  • Minimum weekly compensation benefit is the lesser of $315.00 or 75% of the average weekly wage.

Temporary Partial Disability:

  • Maximum weekly compensation benefit is $1,154.00
  • No minimum weekly compensation benefit applies

Permanent Partial Disability:

  • Maximum weekly compensation benefit is $1,154.00
  • Minimum weekly compensation benefit is $50.00

RHODE ISLAND

(Maximum Compensation Rates)

The Maximum Weekly Compensation rate effective October 1, 2023 is $1,534.00.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

The Maximum Total Disability rate is $2,076.00 and the Minimum Total Disability rate is $415.25, both effective July 1, 2023.

The State Average Weekly Wage effective
July 1, 2023 is $1,384.15. 

VERMONT

MAINE

The State Average Weekly Wage effective
July 1, 2023 is $1,103.71
(for injuries occurring on or after January 1, 2013)

The multiplier as of July 1, 2023 is 1.06522. This multiplier is obtained by dividing the new SAWW by the preceding year’s average weekly wage.

MaineCare is increasing reimbursement rates for dates of injuries on or after July 1, 2021 or certain services in the policy sections listed below, through a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) as directed by Maine PL 2021, Ch. 639.

The COLA effective July 1, 2023 is equal to an increase of 8.24% above the currently established rate(s).  8.24% is the same COLA that certain services received on January 1, 2023. This COLA increase is proportional to the percentage increase in the Maine minimum wage as determined by the Maine Department of Labor.

COLA is effective for any injury date after
January 1, 2021.
