Biography

Attorney Lynn M. Raccio grew up in North Haven, Connecticut, the oldest child of Joanne M. Raccio and the late Attorney Frank J. Raccio. She began her legal career at the age of 3 in her father’s law office which, at the time, she renamed Kopkind, Flynn, Raccio & Lynn. She graduated from Fairfield University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics with concentrations in psychology and philosophy. She received the 1986 Arts and Sciences Award for Distinguished Work in the Social Sciences for her work on the Vietnam War and its long-term effects on soldiers. She was a member of the Association of Honor Students, and Pi Sigma Alpha (National Political Science Honor Society, Vice President), and was captain of the cheerleading team.

Upon graduation from Western New England College School of Law in 1989, she worked in private practice with a focus in workers’ compensation and clerked for various judges in Connecticut. She served as the Corporation Counsel, Chairwoman of the Board of Ethics and a member of the Charter Revision Committee for the City of Middletown, Connecticut. In 1996, she became associated with the staff counsel office of a major insurance company, was promoted to Senior Trial Attorney, and later named in the firm title. In 2004, she accepted a Senior Trial Attorney position within another staff counsel office. In 2016, she joined Tentindo, Kendall, Canniff & Keefe, LLP and has been elevated to partner.

Since 1996, Attorney Raccio has primarily handled the defense of workers’ compensation claims and successfully completed countless hearings and appeals involving varied areas in that discipline. She has also defended motor vehicle accident, premises liability and product liability cases and handled subrogation claims. She is BV® Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which provides peer-based ratings of attorneys. Per Martindale-Hubbell, a BV® certification mark is an excellent rating, a widely respected mark of achievement, which differentiates a lawyer from his or her competition.

In addition to her litigation background, Attorney Raccio was an accomplished and competitive ballerina. She has assisted with the St. John’s (Queens, New York) Mock Trial team, and has served as a consultant to an attorney on various sports, entertainment, collegiate and criminal matters, as a Collegiate Mock Trial Judge in regional competitions in Connecticut and New York, as an advisor for Adoptive Families Magazine, and as a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery program. Currently, she is an advisor for Nordstrom, a Tiffany & Company enthusiast, a special assistant to the Connecticut Secretary of State for elections, the Secretary of the Simsbury (Connecticut) Regional Bar Association, and a member of the Simsbury Board of Ethics.
